Phonics
Today, we are learning another new sound from Set 3. If your child struggles with any of the sounds, please let me know so that I can support you.
Phonics lesson: Set 3 sound ‘oa’ - This sound will be uploaded at 9:30am, by Ruth Miskin. Please watch the speed sounds and then the spellings.
You will have 24 hours to watch it before the video is removed.
Phonics challenge: Can you use one of these words containing the special friend 'oa' to write your own sentence?
goat, boat, road, throat, toast or coat
You might want to have a look at Oxford Owl to support your child’s learning.
Reading
Now read the story with lots of expression. Please select the relevant group:
Mrs Bramley - 'My dog Ned'
Miss Jackson - 'Elvis'
Mrs Whaley - 'Lost'
Remember to read every day!

Topmarks - Fruit Splat (subtraction)
Have a go at creating a story mountain (like we have lots of times in class) for your very own story based on our original text 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'.
Some ideas to think about:
1. Who are your characters?
2. How many do you have?
3. Where do they live?
4. Do you have a bridge?
5. Who is hiding underneath?
6. What is on the other side?
Draw and label your ideas.

Sorting Materials
Can you conduct your own experiment to find out which materials are waterproof and which materials are not?
Find some different objects made from these materials from around your home or garden (if it isn't too wet) and test them to see if they are waterproof or not.
- Which material should Dougie's coat be made out of?
- Could you design a new coat for him?
