Today we found a diary and two elf shoes in our reading corner! Can you start your own diary? Remember to write about things that have actually happened.

Dear Diary,

Last night, we had the most wonderful time.  After spending many nights sewing shoes and boots together for the old Shoemaker in town, we went back to find an amazing treat!

At midnight, Maggie and I crept into the Shoemaker’s shop again to help her make more soft, leather shoes.  As we tiptoed across the stone floor, we saw a bright candle and walked towards it.  Then we warmed our hands at the flickering flame. Suddenly, I saw some beautiful little clothes folded neatly on the table. The kind Shoemaker had made them for us!

We put on our new green coats and cosy, blue trousers.  On our feet we wore tiny, red shoes.  We looked so smart!  My belt was made of shining gold thread.  Maggie had a pink hat with white buttons. We were very happy and would never be cold again.

After shouting thank you to the shoemaker, we ran and danced from the shop out into the street. Next we will look for someone else to help.
