Oliver Jeffers is one of my favourite children’s authors. We love this story in Aire class, and our Year ones will remember us dressing as the crayons last year for book day. Here is the link on his Website for his Stay at home story time.

Useful websites, Apps and online learning experiences.

Good morning

I am going to start adding useful online learning links and websites I have seen that are linked to the learning we have been doing at school.  Please feel free to comment with anything you have seen and enjoyed.

Other curriculum areas

Aire class love Shonette Bason Wood
She invented the Dough disco and is live twice a day on Spread the Happiness TV
Her channel has lots of video's including one of our favourites
                                                      Days of the week
She also has a website called Spread the Happiness
Our other favourite Dough disco songs are:
Funky Feet Music - play dough disco
Dough disco - If you're happy and you know it!

Reading and phonics.

At school we use the Read, write, inc scheme for reading and phonics.
There are Read, write, inc Live Phonics lessons on YouTube each morning at 9.30, 10 and 10.30 for sets 1,2 and 3 letters. These only stay live for 24 hours. To find out which set your child is working on I have listed our phonic teachers names and set being covered. It would not harm to recap sounds in other sound lessons that day.
Mrs Smith - set one - moving towards set two
Mrs Bramley - set two moving towards set three
Miss Watling - set three
Mrs Stones - set three

Oxford Owl have a Read, Write inc home learning website  where they constantly updating resources. There are Ereading books, speedy green words to learn, Videos, help for parents  and worksheets to match the sounds we have been learning.

Oxford Owl also have an extensive free eBook Library with a wide range of books to read.

Audible have also made all their children's stories free to listen to.

Many famous authors are reading their books online daily eg David Walliams.

I saw this idea online and thought it looked amazing!

Maths

Hit the button.  This is a really good game we have used at school to learn our number bonds to ten. Click the link.

Aire class love Mr Mac - Everybody get up!  It's brilliant for counting in 1,2,5, and 10s.

We also love the Number pairs song!

Don’t forget to watch Numberblocks. There are old episodes on YouTube as well as some on CBeebies Online. They have added number games as well.  CBeebies numberblocks

We use BBC Super Movers as our warm up in maths. Have a look at the Key Stage One section. There are songs for Maths, English, Personal and social education, and even Modern foreign languages.  Here are some links to some of our favourites!

Counting with John Farnworth - Football freestyler  Aidan's just done this one!
Maths - digits and numbers with Marlon Wallen
                                           Number bonds with Martin Dougan
Maths - length - height  - One to make you smile!  The children love this one.

All songs have printable lyrics on the website (I wish we had known this before Mrs Bramley!)

Let's start our new journey together!

Welcome to Aire Class Blog.

This is the place where you can share what you are doing with each other and in time I will also be setting some tasks for you to complete.

For now, I would just like to see who is out there reading this. So if you can, either leave a comment saying Hi or telling us your news. Or, if you would rather not comment, just email me to show me you are reading the blog, this will give us a good idea of how many people are accessing it.

Thanks, I am looking forward to our community growing online.
