Summer Term - Week 4

Hello Aire Class.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the VE Day celebrations. I would love to see any photographs you have taken of you celebrating.

This weeks tasks are below.

Weekly Maths Tasks (plus Numberblocks)

Week 4 -Reception
 - Summer week 4 - The Very Busy Spider

Week 4 - Year 1 - please scroll down to Week 2 - Capacity, counting in 10s, Making equal groups.

Please feel free to access activities from both year groups.

Receptions maths is linked to The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle the Author of last weeks book The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Here is an animated version of The Very Busy Spider. It’s a nice story that isn’t as famous as the others in the series.

Don’t forget to keep working on your Hit the Button challenge.

Weekly English tasks (plus daily reading and phonics session) This can be done in any order.

Daily Read, write inc session. Link to daily lesson These run daily on YouTube.

Once again this is a 2 week unit. Although this is a year one booklet, it fits perfectly with the theme of Receptions maths, and I feel our current reception children will be able to do this.  It’s all about Sidney the spider.

Don’t forget Read, write inc are running their new Story time with Nick, with new stories every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

How many of these mini-beasts can you find when you go on your next daily walk, or even on your garden?

Here is the link to this sheet if you want to print it out.

PSHE - The longer we are having to stay home to stay safe it can become harder to handle our emotions.  Have a look at this great lesson on BBC Bitesize about how to manage our emotions when we sometimes feel angry or frustrated.

    Aire Class Ongoing Task

While we are in Lock down it would be a lovely idea to create a Time capsule containing memories of our special time spent with our families. This would be an ongoing project for the whole family.

Be as creative as you can be!

Here is a link to an handy article about how to make a Covid19 Time capsule with your child

This link takes you to a booklet your child can complete to capture their memories.
There is also a link for parents to complete their own booklet as well!

Please feel free to share your wonderful learning with me. You can either email pictures to me at:
mrssmith@carlton-in-snaith.n-yorks.sch.uk, add comments to this Blog, or if you are in Reception add your learning to Tapestry
