Handwriting - This week I would like to remind you about your Pencil grip.

Remember - You should be holding your pencil with your "Polly Parrot Fingers" Tripod grip

Here is how to help
  1.  Lay the pencil down on the table with the point facing towards you.

  2.  Fly your Polly parrot fingers down to the pencil and grip it with your thumb and first finger (do not twist your hand)

  3.  While gripping the pencil with your thumb and first finger pull the pencil towards you until it touches your hand between the finger and thumb - we call this "putting your pencil to bed"

  4. Slide your middle finger under the pencil to support it.

  5.  Tuck your finger two fingers under until they touch the palm of your hand.

Aire Class Ongoing Task

We are all very lucky to live in such a nice community.  For our new ongoing project I would like you
to think about the village that you live in. What are the landmarks in your village?  Can you draw a plan.

We have lots of interesting churches, shops, schools, Drax power station, and houses including Carlton towers. Choose a landmark that interests or is special to you. What do you know about it?
Why is it special to you? When was it built? Can you draw it? Could you make a model of it using boxes or Lego?

Please feel free to share your wonderful learning with me.
You can either email pictures to me at:
mrssmith@carlton-in-snaith.n-yorks.sch.uk, add comments to this Blog, or if you are in Reception add your learning to Tapestry
