Even though Stanley has returned to school for two days a week as a key worker child, he is still very busy at home with his home learning. I am really proud of him.

Home learning with Ben

Ben has developed a real interest for Natural disasters, such as Earthquakes and Tornado’s and has spent a lot of time learning about them.

Here Ben is using wooden blocks to show how Earthquakes work.

Ben has a fantastic time designing and making his dinosaur pizza. He designed the pizza first choosing his toppings carefully and then made his own pizza dough. He then shaped it like a dinosaur. He added the toppings to match his design. Then he put it in the oven.  It looks delicious!

Handwriting - This week I would like to remind you of the terminology we use when teaching the children how to sit correctly when writing at school.

We use -

• TNT - Tummy near table 
• BBC - bottom, back, chair
• 6 legs on the floor - this is your four chair legs, and your two flat feet on the floor

This week I would like you to use the map symbol knowledge you gained last week to make a map of the area you live in. Please add any map symbols you can eg railway, church, bridge.

With a lovely weather forecast for next week I though it would be a great opportunity to sort everyday materials into two groups. You could test this in your paddling pool!

Aire Class Ongoing Task 

We are all very lucky to live in such a nice community.  For our new ongoing project I would like you

to think about the village that you live in. What are the landmarks in your village?  Can you draw a plan.  

We have lots of interesting churches, shops, schools, Drax power station, and houses including Carlton towers. Choose a landmark that interests or is special to you. What do you know about it?

Why is it special to you? When was it built? Can you draw it? Could you make a model of it using boxes or Lego?
