Reading comprehension - The Zoo Vet

There is one text to read. If some of the words are too difficult for your child, read the text together encouraging them to read any words they can on their own. Then select the set of questions appropriate for your child (Reception should initially look at set one, Year ones set two) and answer, discussing as you go. Show your child how to look back in the text for answers or clues. Please feel free to use all sets of questions if you want to.

This could be reading a book from home, an eBook from Oxford Owl, magazines, listening to audio books, sharing a book with someone in your family. There’s some lovely ideas on this reading bingo.

While we are in Lock down it would be a lovely idea to create a Time capsule containing memories of our special time spent with our families. This would be an ongoing project for the whole family.

Be as creative as you can be!

Here is a link to an handy article about how to make a Covid19 Time capsule with your child

This link takes you to a booklet your child can complete to capture their memories.
There is also a link for parents to complete their own booklet as well!

Please feel free to share your wonderful learning with me. You can either email pictures to me at:
mrssmith@carlton-in-snaith.n-yorks.sch.uk, add comments to this Blog, or if you are in Reception add your learning to Tapestry.
